Yeah we won our first meet this season! We beat Germantown 435-357 in an exciting and spirited final home `A' meet. Congratulations all our swimmers and a special congratulations to Caroline Kettl for getting an All-Star time in the 50 Free! Also, a big thanks to Dick Calvert for donating his 50-50 winnings back to the team, (it could have paid for a textbook, Dick, maybe, but we'll take it, thanks!)
`B' Relays - at Manchester Farms, Monday, July 9th. Warm-ups begin at 5:15pm. Everyone who signed up will be swimming, so please check in with Coach Dyann when you arrive.
Division B T-shirts - if anyone is interested in purchasing a t-shirt, put a check in the Rogers family folder before Tuesday. Check the bulletin board for the design & details.
Coaches Longcourse – Tuesday, July 10 at 7:00pm. This meet is for the top 8 fastest swimmers in Montgomery County in their respective strokes. They swim each race in a 50m pool twice the distance of a normal Saturday meet race. Katie Rogers is our only Otter this year to swim in 2 events (Free & IM) for this prestigious meet and as a team we would like for you to come out and cheer for her at RMSC, located off Martins Lane in Rockville. Good Luck, Katie!!
Home `B' Meet – vs. Westleigh, Wednesday, July 11th. Please be at the Q.O. pool by 4:30pm for warm-ups. The theme is "Pirates of Quince Orchard!! Come dressed as your favorite pirate or you may be "Walking the plank, Matey". Arghh!!
Doughnut & Bagel Day – Everyone is invited to enjoy doughnuts and bagels after the Team practice on Thursday, July 12th. Little Otters and their `coaches' will have their food at 11:00am after their practice. Please see the bulletin board to sign-up for food items.
Summer Raffle - The 2007 OTTER Summer Raffle is here!! 1st and 2nd prizes are $500.00 and $250.00 cash, respectively (both donated by QOS&T Club.) The remaining prizes include valuable Otterwear. Tickets are 1 for $10.00, or 3 for $25.00. The drawing will be at the QO Banquet on July 22nd. (You do not need to be present to win. One prize per family.) Tickets will be sold during meets and other Otter events. If you'd like to contribute a prize, contact Doug Richardson.
Pictures! If you've been taking digital pictures at the meets and other swim team functions, we would love you to share those pictures for the Banquet show. Please put them on a CD and pass them on to Bill Szymczak, or if you only have a few pictures, email them to Bill at bill.szymczak@comcast.net. Thanks!
